What began as a way to enjoy the snacks I trusted has grown into Kachi's Foods, a brand built on tasty quality and real ingredients.
Behind every bag of Kachi's Foods snacks is an engineer with a serious sweet tooth. I studied mechanical engineering at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, then spent a few years working in oil and gas before I made the decision to resign and start over in Lagos.
Growing up in the North, snacking was part of everyday life. So when I moved to Lagos, I went looking for that same feeling. What I found instead was a lot of uncertainty about where and how the snacks around me were actually made.
That uncertainty pushed me into my own kitchen. I started making snacks I could trust, first just for myself, then for friends and family who kept asking for more.
In 2019, a friend asked if I could make chin chin for her daughter's birthday party, and offered to actually pay me for it. I said yes. Pregnant, barefoot, and working out of a small kitchen, I made our very first product: one flavor of chin chin.
"That one flavor has grown into three chin chin varieties, over 20 snack options, and a full range of healthy Nigerian drinks. What started in my kitchen now ships nationwide across Nigeria and reaches customers around the world."
